Texas Gubernatorial Candidate Bill White Slams Perry for Budget Cuts!
What a surprise! A democrat who doesn't want to cut spending.

Bonus: In a classic bit of projection, White uses the term "soviet-style"  when  describing Perry's
budget management.

Maybe Bill White was thinking about somewhere a little bit to the north east.

Attention Mr. White: You're doing it wrong.

Keep up the good work.

Worth the Time...

Two articles at the Tenth Amendment center caught my eye this morning. One concerning federalism and states rights, and another opining the government's inability to restrain itself and who's responsibility it is to restrain it. (I'll give you three guesses and the first two don't count.)

Thirdly this humble Robot has been invited to join a bunch of blogging brainiacks over at The Resistance. It's a new group blog offering discourse from a libertarian/conservative perspective with a lot of talent and a pinch of snark. Check it out. Bookmark it! It promises to be a lot of fun.

Free Speech Impediment (With Every Purchase!)

>> March 8, 2010

Here's an open letter to President Obama that he will never see. Not because I didn't send it. I did this weekend in the form of faxes. I just want to stick it up here on the interwebz Mr President, in case you would like to refer to it later. You know, in case you forgot.

Dear Mr. President,

Sir, Please stop what you are doing and listen to the people you serve. We don't share your view of America. We The People want you and Congress to start over on Health Care Reform. There are better ways to help people get medical care than enslaving the rest of us (US).

Just had to get that out of the way.

Now, today's topic is Free Speech or more aptly, the restriction of it.
Why you ask?
Because I made this cool Motivator. That's why.

Back in August 2009, Barack Obama said that he wanted his critics to shut up and get out of the way.

Then, in October 2009 he cosponsored an anti-free speech resolution at the United Nations.

In an article at Human Events Robert Spencer of Jihad Watch quotes legal expert Eugene Volokh:
"If the U.S. backs a resolution that urges the suppression of some speech," he explains, "presumably we are taking the view that all countries -- including the U.S. -- should adhere to this resolution. If we are constitutionally barred from adhering to it by our domestic constitution, then we’re implicitly criticizing that constitution, and committing ourselves to do what we can to change it"” He adds that in order to be consistent, "the Administration would presumably have to take what steps it can to ensure that supposed ‘hate speech’ that incites hostility will indeed be punished..."
More recently, speaking of the POTUS's State of the Union Address,  Robert Spencer rightly calls out Obama for criticizing the Supreme Court:
"During his State of the Union address, Barack Obama criticized the Supreme Court for overturning major portions of the McCain-Feingold Campaign Finance Reform Act. But the Supreme Court was upholding the freedom of speech: when the high court struck down key McCain-Feingold provisions last month, its ruling declared that "if the First Amendment has any force, it prohibits Congress from fining or jailing citizens, or associations of citizens, for simply engaging in political speech."
Is there a pattern here?

Whatever he says he deplores, he deploys.

This man is the biggest threat to our freedoms in the last one hundred years, possibly evah. While he's cosponsoring resolutions at the UN which denounce incitement and hatred, he has shown that he has had no qualms with those tactics in the past, as when he suggested using those same tools against his opponents during the presidential campaign.

Watch him. Watch what he says, then watch what he does. I guarantee you the two are diametrically opposed.

So now, we are invited to watch his narcissism on display as he is obsessed with shoving his beloved Health Care Plan down the throats of an unwilling populace. (Sorry for that visual.) Are we to sit idly by while this happens? That is what the authors of this little play would have us do. That or fawn all over them like sycophantic groupies backstage at a rock concert.

I can't and won't do it.
Period.

Send your faxes also.

Side note-
Thinking out loud - I can't be sure but I would think that there could be an effect on the mind of someone who is constantly told A when Z is actually true and is proven to be so. One could also speculate that it would be akin to a psychological torture or conditioning of some kind if perpetuated time and time again. (Lather, Rinse, Repeat.) I wonder what that might be called...

Any psychiatrists/neurologists in the house?

Conservative Blogger Debate - Sarah Palin Edition!

>> March 7, 2010

Yowzah! I thought that would get your attention.
The Robot loves him some Palin!

TheCL of The Classic Liberal fame is moderating this edition of the Conservative Blogger Debate. To get you up to speed, here are some details I swiped from his site...

Last week's debate focused on the War on Terror:

This week's subject is Sarah Palin!
Debate participants include T. Christopher from Republican Redefined, and Don from Present Discontent and Conservative Hideout 2.0.

QUESTION 1:
Present economic conditions being what they are (9.7% unemployment; projected 1.5 trillion budget deficit; skyrocketing national debt; etc.) what impact, if any, do you think Sarah Palin's prior actions as governor or policy pronouncements more recently, would have on any given specific economic indicator or the economy in general? Don't feel restrained to the indicators given in your answer. Specific examples of her implemented policies/pronouncements are encouraged but not necessarily required.
---
Ed: This is not intended to be a referendum on why we are where we are but rather a question on whether the debaters think Sarah Palin's prior actions and more recent words if implemented would have any impact (good, bad or indifferent) on the situation as it exists.
That's it for the set up. You can follow the debate and also join in the punditry in the comments section of the hosting sites. These are some genuinely nice guys. I don't think anyone would get shown the door for sharing their thoughts. Once again here is the link. Cheers!

UPDATE: The first response has been issued.
UPDATE II: The reply has been posted. A shot across the bow? Or a direct hit?
UPDATE III: The volley is returned!

Truthers' New Spokesperson = Ahmadinejad

The AP this morning reported that, surprisingly, Iranian President Ahmadinejad is a 9/11 truther! I didn't know he was an fan of Charlie Sheen. Perhaps he's listening to Alex Jones on the interwebz.

"September 11 was a big lie and a pretext for the war on terror and a prelude to invading Afghanistan," Ahmadinejad was quoted as saying by state TV. He called the attacks a "complicated intelligence scenario and act."

Glad we got that out of the way. Now I can go on about my Sunday business knowing that a tin-horn, third world, wanna-be nuclear dictator is going to solve one of America's biggest mysteries for us. Maybe he can tell us who killed JFK while he's busy sleuthing around in our closet of quandary.

This isn't the amateur detective's first foray into 9/11 territory either:
At the time[2007], he also told Iranian state TV the attacks were "a result of mismanaging and inhumane managing of the world by the U.S," and that Washington was using Sept. 11 as an excuse to attack others.
I've got a suggestion for you there Ahckmadini ol' pal. Why don't you look out the window of your own palace there in Tehran? You might just find some of the inhumane mismanagement that you speak of.

Pay no attention to the man behind the turban.

Today's Reading Assignment: No Slackers Edition

>> March 5, 2010

There's a post over at The Classic Liberal where he writes about the very real possibility of a global economic collapse. That possibility should give every American and all citizen's of the world reason to question the so-called good intentions of their respective governments.

I'm still reeling from the implications of it.

Given the gloom and doom nature of the post, I jokingly remarked at how much fun TheCL would be at a party, but if he and the MIT and LSE authors of the original article quoted here are correct, then there is mighty struggle ahead. I dare say apocalyptic even.

I bring this up to warn you, and to push the point home yet again that free people must hold their elected officials accountable. We can no longer brush aside any unjust, misuse of power, even if it is used against a group who we dislike. Abuse of power should never be ignored, especially to the least of us. Left to it's own devices, one day the cold boot of tyranny will kick down even a Governor's door.

The articles explain, in much greater detail than I can begin to fully comprehend, that power can be wielded against us not only with a gun but with the Treasury's printing presses and secret backroom deals by the elitists in their little cocoons, shielded from the society they despise as only despots can.

As TheCL rightly said, our country needs leaders. It needs YOU to be a leader. America needs you to wake up. She desperately needs us all.

I said in an earlier post that these politicians will not go quietly. I think the past few months of the Health Care fiasco has proved me right on that end.

We've got a long battle ahead. Dig in, keep reading, calling your legislators, reminding them that they work for the people, encouraging them to do what is right for our nation:

Stop deficit spending.
Stop government corruption.
Lame Duck the Obamachine until we can get some real conservatives back in office, only then will meaningful change be possible.

And remember to Pray. Pray for our leaders that they would do what is best for the country. Pray for them to follow God's will.

Now, as the saying goes; Hope for the best, prepare for the worst.

Go read TheCL's article. Then go read the other two he refers to here and here.
Prepare to be sobered up.

There's a Rumor...

circulating that I have naked Lucy Pinder pics on this site. Well. I don't. There are no naked Lucy Pinder pics on this blog. Don't get me wrong, if there were, I certainly wouldn't complain, but seeing as how there are no naked Lucy Pinder pictures here then, I really must be honest about it.

I only post this today to help wash your mind out from that nasty little Karl Rove spell I had yesterday. Sorry about that. I don't know what I was thinking.

Now back to our regularly scheduled programming.

UPDATE: I must be losing it. I totally forgot to mention The Other McCain's Rule 5 in this post. Ignorance is bliss, but not when it costs your blog hits. As penance, I have added more pictures of Lucy Pinder after the jump. She just might be close to naked in a couple of those...

UPDATE II: WOW! Maybe there is something to this Rule 5 business. The Robot issues a Hearty Howdy to all the visitors from The Other McCain. Think I'll just go look for some more Lucy Pinder pics now...

So I Was Thinking About It...

>> March 4, 2010

and so I did it.

I made Facebook and Twitter pages for The Bot.  Gotta get with the times you know? The 20th century?

Hey, and good news!  Karl Rove is following me! I've got like a total of twelve tweets and Karl Rove is following me. He knows intellect when he sees it. Why he's following those other 96,000 idiots, I can't explain.

Anyhoo, now I'm trying to find widgets to link back to those respective pages. What a pain in the a$$ to find one that goes with my delicate sensibilities.

"Honey, does this Twitter button make my blog look fat?"

"No dear."

Of course, that's not really what she was thinking. What she was thinking was:

Nothing.

She couldn't have had a thought. She's the imaginary girl that lives in my head. So there's that too I've got to deal with.

What? Oh. Sorry,
I left the toilet seat up.

My bad.

So, follow the blog on Twitter and Facebook.

You'll be glad you did.

UPDATE: Oh. suuuure it's a coincidence. The Trog's trying to horn in on my post. - Yea, like hey dude. I was here first. Everybody just jump on the Karl Rove party train why don't you.

UPDATE II: Wyblog has a new acronym he'd like to share with us and links the bot simultaneously. That's a neat trick! Wait. Did he just call me a fraudulent jerk?

Just What Isn't For Sale In This Administration?

Obama Now Selling Judgeships for Health Care Votes? | The Weekly Standard

Louisiana, Nevada, Nebraska, and now we're selling votes for... Judges.

Judges.

No, not two... ONE. 1. Singular.

Judge.

You'd better get in now, while the prices are still low!

Once those votes are gone, they're gone!

See, The Washington Standard got it a bit wrong I think. They said that Obama may have sold the Judgeship for a vote. But I think it was the other way around. Obama sold the vote. He sold more than one vote, and those sales will cost us all dearly.

So.

If you haven't made your deal yet, time is r-r-r-running out!

Call the 24 hour hotline on your screen now and make us an offer! Hey. Who knows?  I hear the First Amendment is going for the price of a song!

As long as you don't sing.

Stop Reconciliation of Health Care Reform

>> March 3, 2010

This morning, one of my associates from work pointed me to the American Center for Law and Justice. Based in Washington D.C., it is a Christian advocacy group consisting of lawyers and researchers working to ensure our First Amendment rights are upheld. According to their website, it is

an organization dedicated to the defense of constitutional liberties secured by law.
[Through] work in the courts and the legislative arena, the ACLJ is dedicated to protecting your religious and constitutional freedoms.
My kind of organization.

Right now, the ACLJ is inviting all concerned citizens to sign a petition to stop the reconciliation tactic and start over on Health Care. If you are so inclined, you can sign it here.

Pass it on as well.

That is all.

Health Care Nuclear Option = 2010 Socialist Democrat Hiroshima

>> March 2, 2010

I just saw today that Opus #6  at MAinfo has done a fine job rounding up the Senators and Congress-critters into one list. A *ahem* SociaList, if you will, of their positions on reconciling the Health Care Reform bill.

This has got to stop. Reconciliation is a tactic that has been used in the past for budget items. Never for enormous sweeping social programs like this.

So, Here's what to do. Go visit MAinfo. Read the list. Find your Senate and Congress critters. Send them faxes using the nice Citizens In Action link provided (Note: there is also a link to a Progressive Change Committee site asking you to sign a petition. That is just to give you some background on the leftist propaganda machine we are battling.)

I would post the whole thing here, but hey, Opus #6 did the work so, she deserves the credit.
Be sure to thank her for that hard work while you're there.
