Navy SEALs Face Assault Charges...

for Capturing Most-Wanted Terrorist: via FOXNews.com
WHAT?!
This too, is asinine. It's Fort Hood "PC" taken to the nth degree on the international stage no less. We are the laughing stock of the world and it should be stopped. These SEALs are hero's and should be treated as such, not put on trial or charged with crimes. I don't have to tell you what kind of shock-wave this will send to the rest of our brave soldiers. With every move they make, this administration seems intent on burying any and all initiative in the public and private sectors except to grow their precious government.

Your last paragraph suggests you are attributing the assault charges against these SEALs to the Obama administration. I didn't see anything in the FoxNews article suggesting the administration had anything to do with this. This appears to be purely an internal military matter stemming from the fact that the captured terrorist had a busted lip and claimed he was roughed up by his captors.
Thanks for the comment Jeffrey. Sorry for the belated reply, I was working in the field.
True enough on the Obama Admin. not being directly involved in the charges. I know that B.O. did not charge them personally, but given the brutality that these barbarian terrorists use, it seems insane to me to even allow them the right to press trumped up charges against our military men and women for a "busted lip". My point is, that the military command (under the leadership of this administration) could, if they desired, keep these charges from "growing legs" - forgive the analogy. I don't feel sorry for him. How is it that our soldiers are always on trial for doing what we asked them to do? What was the quote from Apocalypse Now? "Charging someone with murder around here is like handing out tickets at the Indy 500." or something like that. And this isn't murder. It's a busted lip for cryin-out-loud. I imagine he got it while resisting capture. He's lucky he's not dead! He should be. Political Correctness cannot / should not be applied to war (or anything else IMO). Something is wrong with this, and ANY administration should put a stop to it. Bush wouldn't have put up with it I don't think. (If he ever did, he was wrong too.) I know I wouldn't have put up with our soldiers being treated this way, so vote for me. :-)
Ok, you got me started. I'll quit now.
BTW Sincerely, I hope you and your family have a very Happy Thanksgiving.
Hope you and yours had a happy Thanksgiving too.
But with respect to the busted lip: you are speculating. What if a soldier really did pop the terrorist in the face after he had been detained? I'm sure that's against military regulations, and adherence to regs is *everything* in the military.
From the article:
"Ahmed Hashim Abed, whom the military code-named "Objective Amber," told investigators he was punched by his captors — and he had the bloody lip to prove it."
It's his word against theirs as to the timing of when he was punched. I'm going to go with the SEALs on this one. This guy deserves no respect.
